WE LET EACH OTHER GO

WE LET EACH OTHER GO
I wished and wished it was not so!
There was a real love so true
We both knew
We parted, departed
But in part
We both knew
We both still know
That deep within our love never ceased
We come together with great proceed
To take it slow, real slow
But it is hard to hide or show
The golden glow
This beating heart that has missed your beating heart
Who oh why did we part?
I miss the closeness
Our lovingness
Oh and our chumminess
Those silly, silly banters
That made us canter
Here and there
Without a care
You made that so wished for call
You called, you called
And yet again you had me enthralled
My heart felt so light
So bright
Oh I really hope this turns out right!

A LIFE SO FREE

A LIFE SO FREE
And it’s not just me!
It can be carefree
Singing in the rain
Pouring down the windows panes
Laughing out loud
Screaming out loud
The joy the bliss
Oh never to miss
It’s letting go of those shackles
Letting those hackles go hackle
Stretch, stretch
Never to wretch

RECORDING OF 'POETRY FOR ALL' The original version & New Version on Soundcloud

With grateful thanks to Ian Bradley Marshall for recording 'Poetry For All' a must listen to for all Poetry writers and lovers

THE STAIRS TO YOUR HEART

THE STAIRS TO YOUR HEART
The long, long trudge
Up those slippery, slimy and oily grunge
The wooden planks
That caused a lot of pranks
The metal studs that were made with thanks
Thanks they hurt so much!
They pierced the soul
My very whole
The precarious
The hazardous
The perilous
Rickety, rackety uncertainty
You became hesitantly
 Tentatively and doubtfully
 Why? Why? Oh why?
When all I do is try, try and try!
And all I hear are your long drawn out sighs!
So why should I bother?
Is it too much of a bother?
Can you not be bothered?
To meet me half way
This way, that way!
Or anyway!
That way we can reach each other’s hearts
Where we will never be apart

THOUGHTFUL

THOUGHTFUL
Very thoughtful
This empty mind
This empty skeleton
Ever thoughtful
Ever so thoughtless
Empty thoughts
Full of thoughts
What are your thoughts?
Just have these thoughts
Thoughts
Spinning and spinning
Brimming over with them all
The mind agog
Jeeps a fog
Must clear them thoughts
Oh dear they’ve gone
Now what can ponder over and fill my mind with thoughts
Any thoughts anyone?
Cos I’m done

POETRY FOR ALL

POETRY FOR ALL
Whether you are short or tall
Slim or chique
Whether your tongue is in your cheek
Poetry is an everyday event
And oh how it is heaven sent!
Poetry is a mover, groover and a cooler
Poetry is pleasing to the troubled brow
Even more so when there is a crow
Listening, high and low
Poetry has its peaks and troughs
And oh how we never get enough!
Poetry is inventive, creative and incentive
Panoramic, photogenic and at times so graphic
It’s a way of the world, not curled
Poetry is beautiful, beautified
Poetry writers, write so right
Their skills can be thrills that spills
From line to line, page to page
The nib of the pen writes over and over again
Depicting a picturesque, pictographic pictorial
For all that it enthralls
So you see
Poetry is for all

Cassandra has really put her first novel in first place with her brilliant, brilliant 'The Veil: Dreams Part One together.
Dreams, we all have them, but do we believe in them? are they a figment of our imagination? Are they real? and why do we see people we know in them? we are talking with them as if they are there with us even though they no longer exist in our world. But do they?
Mystery and suspense abound when Sasha founds out that one person is not dead, that they have powers that enable them to visit dreams and this is where Sasha finds out herself that she is a Sorceress herself, that she is special and not like the rest of those around her. Who and what are those shape shifters and why is it so important that they be eliminated ? There is passion, love and romance in a world that seems beyond ours
I cannot fault Cassandra's first ever short story and I am really looking forward to reading her follow up
Thank  you Cassandra for a brilliant great read and a pleasure to do a review for you

THE CITY OF ROMANCE

THE CITY OF ROMANCE
Where we just glanced
Took one long, long glance
We danced, oh we danced
In the city so gay and carefree
Paris, Paris, Paris
All through the long, long night
The night life shone and shone
Whereupon it seemed we were the only ones
The stars were shining so bright
Your eyes shining, with love
They spoke of forever, eternally
Just you and me
Always being carefree
Letting the world float by
Floating on a sea of paradise
Were we so wise?
Did we not see with our eyes?
Those tears that never conquered our fears
The rain splattered sidewalks
The flooding rivers that rose from
 The endless, ceaseless,
Barrage of jealousy, envy
The barrage of insecurities
The frightening lightning of your enlightening
Infidelity
Will stay with me incessantly

COMFY, COSY SOFA

COMFY, COSY SOFA
Oh how I have missed you!
It’s been a long week and oh what a week!
The outlook looked so bleak and weak
Tired and tiresome
It reached fevers peak
But here I lay and will stay
Snuggled, nuzzled and huddled
In your warmth, warmness
You fill me with your affection
Tenderness, kindness
Your soft downy touch
That I have missed so much
You’ve enthralled, exhilarated and stimulated my senses
Your touch, oh so irresistibly seductive and desirable
Leaves me wanting more and more
But wait!
There is something, someone missing!
You! You! You!
My Adonis
Oh how I miss you!
With all the above!

ARE WE SO BLIND?

ARE WE SO BLIND?
We walk around oblivious
Unconsciously unaware
Like robots mechanically programmed
Numb unfeeling
Our reflexes reaching for the norm
 Intuitively, unthinkingly
Our subconscious
Thoughts, feelings behaving out of sync
We all traipse around lifeless and blindfolded
Insensible
With not a smile on your faces
In your familiar places
You traipse, you frown
Just like a clown
Oh what a circus running around
And here you are
Unresponsive to the beauty all around
Are we so blind? Are we so bound?
Running around
Take off the binds, the blinds, the blinkers too
FEEL, SEE, TASTE, HEAR, LISTEN
All that is around us
LOVE
In a blindfolded world

THE SOFTEST OF SOUNDS

THE SOFTEST OF SOUNDS
The softest sounds come from the heart
Where nothing can tear that apart
The sweet, sweet rhythms of a heart beat
The flow of energy, flowing gently
Very much like the ebony and ivory
Of the piano chords
The highs that sound like a whisper
The pounding beat of the low notes
Base drums beating with all that is
Sounding out the rhythms for the ballerina
Tap, tap, tip, tip toeing
Flowing, curving, rolling
The elegance, the grace
So fluent, so self-assured
So self-confident, so self-possessed
The tune, the melody
Striking a balance
For us to swing to

GUIDING LIGHT

GUIDING LIGHT
You have been my guiding light
That has shone through the years so bright
Through the heartbreak, the heartache
That brought me to my knees
Begging, imploring please!
You wiped away my tears
Hushed my fears
Those were evidently plain to see and hear
You listened, you heard them all
You heard my screaming call
You never judged
You never left my side
Silently, quietly
That is where you constantly resided
Through the coldness, chilliness
Warming this troubled spirit
With your unconditional love

Winters Warrior (soon to be a short story) ON A MISSION

ON A MISSION
A mission that needs movement
A mission to be fought with might
A fight to the end
Warriors bend
Every corner taken
Every corner travelling
Every corner never knowing
If the truth unbends
If the lies are well hidden
In the slippery bends
They must travel this road with its bends
Fighting the cause to the ends
Warriors
Fighters
Guardians
Fighting against the darkness
The gloom
And doom
They must travel
Near and far
Never wondering
Never questioning
Never pondering
Just go into the fight
With might
Power
With all the forces
Valor
Weapons at the ready
Warding off the predators
From the darkness
Chasing them to the end
Out into the light
This they can depend
The raven
Bringing enlightenment
Truth and justice
The wolf
The warrior’s guardian
Protector
Ears pricked and pointed backwards
A warning
Snarling his teeth
As a warning
Come any closer to my prince
Of the light
I will defend
He can depend
So they travel around the bends
Ever alert
Watchful
Prepared
At the ready

FACT OR IS IT JUST FICTION?

Fact or is it just fiction?
Am I just a figment of your great imagination?
Is this just fanciful?
Or just unbelievable!
Either way or whichever way
I’m sat here high on a branch
With wings furled
Trying to answer your questions
Yes I am real, surreal
To your vivid imagination
I am here and there
In the sunlight, in the shadows of your mind
Watching, listening, hearing your calls
Oh please listen to my calls
Your fears, tears I see and feel
Just quieten those voices you have many choices
Yet I have the right one for you
I’m here right beside you!
In the flesh!
Are we not all Angels of this earth?
To help, to aid, to knock down the barricades
