MANIER TIME

MANIER A TIME
There has been manier time
That there has been a love lost and won
The cradled rocked from side to side
It’s weathered the storms from years gone by
The knocks, bangs and the chipping away
At the heart and soul of everything
The time has come for some beauty and grace
A balance, stillness, a place to rest
A ballerina poised even at rest
Taking the time away from time
Her anguishes, her pains
There is time to refrain
Withdraw from the frays
Quieting her thoughts to a silence
Breathing in new refreshed poise
Away from the noise
The love of her choice
The man of her choice
Her love now lost
Her cradle her rock
Her love once lost
The silent tears, her fears
How is she going to get through the years?
Her poise, her grace written on her face
Hiding what you cannot you see
Or is it hidden?

BORN WITH CHAINS?

BORN WITH CHAINS?
Are we really born tied to chains?
Are we programmed with chains?
Is it from birth to death?
Those chains bind us all
Never free from the boredom
The choredom
The eating the sleeping
The getting up
The going down
Every waking moment
The walk against the tides
What fears us?
What keeps us?
Why those damn chains that keep us back
Back, back, back
Holding us back
At every attack
Attacks from criticism
Disagreement
Cynicism
Pessimism
Sarcasm
Oh how those chains feel tight
So tight
Pulling you back
From your back
The pull to go back
Never wanting to fight back
Losing the will
But finding the will
Against your will
So are we bound by chains?
Chains of our own making
Head for that light
Fight the fright
Let them chains go

AS I LOOK (Part of my life story in poetry)

AS I LOOK
Far beyond the distance
Where the sun is setting
For the last time today
Far beyond this day
There lay
A past that seemed so vast
A past which seemed unreal
Surreal
Like it never happened to this lady
This woman
Of this day
She swept the cobwebs away
Blew her mind, soul and heart
Right apart
It had to be done!
It needed to be done!
To undo all the pain
That came with such torrents of rain
The thunderous sounds
Which clapped, trapped
Me in a maelstrom
All around
A vortex out of control
Sucking, seeping, weeping
All that was crying out loud
Your water spout
Your stupid pout
That fooled others out
But now the maelstrom is over
It’s quiet, peaceful
The waters are calm
Just the gentle ripples remain
Reminding me nothing stays the same
Except my beauty, and my name

BELL OF THE BALL

BELL OF THE BALL
Who has it all!
The glamour
The glitz
Every gown that fits
The bright lights of the town
Yet you still wear a frown
The furs
And fleurs
The diamonds and pearls
You drink cocktails in the swankiest bars
Alone!
You watch the crowds
The couples
That surrounds
Making their own sounds
You’re all alone
Watching
Waiting?
Anticipating
You turn your head slightly
A hint of a smile
That can be seen from a mile
Is it your man?
Or an others hand
That waves in the throngs
In this world and land
Of yours
Lonely and forlorn
With all the riches
With loads of hitches
That cannot be stitched
With the finest of stitches
It’s a black and white world
A biosphere
Minus its atmosphere
Where you see free
And carefree
I see loneliness
A real lonesomeness
I know I live in this world
Of seclusion
Exclusion
From the ordinary
Conventional
Everyday

THE HORIZON BEFORE ME

THE HORIZON BEFORE ME
Looking bleak and cold
Never knowing what the future may hold
But here I stand in anticipation that it will be
A wonderful happily future
Not cold, nothing held back
And all the past there on the rack
With no looking back
This ship, this vessel
Taking me to new places
Imaginary, un-imaginary
Real, surreal
The sky may look cold and uninviting
But then is it?
Before these eyes there is a wonder
A wonder that there is a future
Within the horizon before me

RIVERS OF LIGHT

RIVERS OF LIGHT
Flowing like a stream
Graceful
Elegant
Sinuously
Supple
Winding
Flowing
Right through
It is so supple
Agile too
Swift in its actions
Sprightly too
Responsive to all that is
Receptive
Approachable too
The tide so alert
Ready and prepared too
Strands of color
Golden hues
Sweeping away the blues
Swishing, whooshing and whispering through
Flowing freely through
Cleansing
Renewing
Invigorating
River of light
Reach out and touch it
Feel it
Right through

BUTTERFLY

BUTTERFLY
You fly on the wings
Graceful, elegant as time goes by
There is such beauty
That is conceivable so true
Convincingly so true
You never stop for one moment
Flitting, flying around
Just pausing for the nectar
Then fly off
To another distant place
Your life is short-lived
Summer comes around just once
And then you are gone
Leaving sweet memories
To reminice and miss
To astound us
Amaze and value we do
Sit and stay awhile
So that we may enjoy
The moment of bliss
And beauty
