A NEW BEGINNING

A NEW BEGINNING
Opening the book
To pastures green
Green and lush
With so much to write
And so much to see
And hear
Maybe
The beginning
The place
The time
The here and now
I feel like dancing
Pirouetting, twisting and turning
Like a ballerina
With wings to fly
Just like
The butterfly
Floating so high
In the sky
Then rest by the brook
That is
Weaving
Winding
Meandering
Through the pages
Of the new book
Refreshing
Regenerating
The old
Into new life

Springtime
New lifetime
The time
For new growth
And energy
Turning the bare
Branches into lush
New green leaves
Reaching high
Up to the sky
Now is the time
To write the new book
Whilst sitting here
By the brook

THE DANCE .......... Shortlisted in "The Wider View" poetry competition

THE DANCE
And oh what a dance!
The sensations so sensual
Your body so close, up close
Our bodies almost entwined, intertwined
Teasing, caressing, embracing
The gentle stroking
Up and down my spine
Divine!
Arched in passion, oh what passion!
You lips just a breath away
Taking my breath away
The fire, the heat, the sizzling heat
Burning, yearning, desiring
Oh this crazy, crazy longing
For more and more
Amour’

JUST A MERE HOPE

JUST A MERE HOPE
It’s plain and simple
Nothing out of the ordinary
It’s called love!
We sit with it
We feel it
We watch the oceans ebb and flow
The toing and froing
Like love can be at times
We hope and wish it could be ours
In the wee small hours
Where there is such darkness
Where at times love cannot be found
We hope that our love will be profound
Profoundly, overwhelmingly empowering
It’s the trinity
Love, Hope and Faith
That we all wish for!
A wish for evermore
I know in my heart of hearts
You are there in the distance
I watch
I wait
I’ll watch the waves ebb and flow
I’ll sit in the daybreaks
I’ll sit in the day’s dusks
I’ll watch the sun rise and fall
The glimmer of hope
That is there with the stars twinkling above
And here’s hoping that you’ll be my rock
A rock through the ages
A rock so strong, so sturdy
That you’ll never let me fall
A wish, a hope
That you’ll be
My lover, my best friend!
There isn’t a man that’ll make me feel so special
But I’ll be waiting patiently
There ain’t no man that’ll love me always
But I’ll be waiting patiently
There ain’t no man that is caring
But I’ll be waiting
There ain’t no man that’ll be so sensual, physical, sexual
Right here, right now!
But I’ll be waiting patiently
There ain’t no man ravishing me!
But I‘ll be waiting patiently
There ain’t no man kissing me passionately
But I’ll be waiting patiently
There ain’t no man capturing my soul
Making me feel whole
But I’ll be waiting patiently
Patiently
Patiently
There ain’t no man here to run to!
When I feel so sad and lonely
But I’ll be waiting patiently
With all my heart and soul
Just for you and you alone
Are you just a mere hope?
Oh I hope not
But I’ll be here waiting patiently
I cannot say much more
Yet give me the right
To love you with all my might
Tonight and every night
Day after day

POET OF THE YEAR 2016 - CHILD'S EYES

A CHILD’S EYES
Can be seen for miles
Happy as can be
Busy like the bees
Side to side
Up and down
But a child cannot hide
The anguish
It feels!
The torment and pain
That lays deep, deep inside
It scuppers the day
Like the falling rain
The torrent
The torment
The garland of flowers
That is brought on with the showers
The tweeting bird
Oh to be heard!
Silent is the silence
Hushed is the voice
The whispers never heard
The terror the furor
The ruckus
The rumpus
Is there behind those eyes
A heart dismembered
A heart never to be remembered
It’s there in those eyes
That tells no lies

LIFE ENFOLDS

 LIFE ENFOLDS
Let life enfold you
Curling and swirling
It’s magic
Like the potter’s wheel
Shaping
Molding
The clay
Into something so real
Surreal
The twines
The threads
The twist and turns
Weaving
Curling
Swirling
Like a
Crest of a wave
Sweeping over you
Colours
Of green
And blue
Of the sky
And the earth below
Of all things new
Loves enfoldment
Surprising
Enticing
Exciting
Thrilling
Commencement
Let it all enfold
Rejoicing

IN A WORLD THAT IS CONSTANTLY

IN A WORLD THAT IS CONSTANTLY
On a merry go round
Swings
And roundabouts
Slips
And slides
This way
And that way
Which way to go
The mask that we wear
Showing that we don’t care
Hiding feelings
Sorrows
Pains
Tears
And heartache
With nothing
To gain
Here and there
Dancing the worlds tune
The same old song
Dragging our feet along
Treading the boards
Fear of the wrong move
Tipping our toes
Is this the right move?
Pain and agony
Walking the walk
Elegant
Straight
Does the world know?
How it feels inside
Right now
This second
This minute
This hour
Do you feel like escaping the pipers tune?
Then the time is Right now!
