PEACE AND LOVE

PEACE AND LOVE
Such a beautiful sound
We receive and give
Our love so unconditional
No strings
No bows
No arrows
Attached
Pure and Simple
Graceful
Beautiful
Elegant
That cannot be touched
It is invisible
Not seen by the eyes
The feeling is just
Like the bird in sky
Free
On the wing
Spreading its wings
So wide
The Dove the Bird of
Peace and Love
Unconditional
For you and I
Fluttering its wings
Transforming
A state of mind
Peace takes over
Quietness
Stillness
Silence
Except for the grasses
Gently whispering
It voices
That you are near
Glistening
Shimmering
Behold
A heavenly presence
The light so bright
That surrounds you
Glorious
Peace and Love
Always Be With You

LIFE ENFOLDS

 LIFE ENFOLDS
Let life enfold you
Curling and swirling
It’s magic
Like the potter’s wheel
Shaping
Molding
The clay
Into something so real
Surreal
The twines
The threads
The twist and turns
Weaving
Curling
Swirling
Like a
Crest of a wave
Sweeping over you
Colours
Of green
And blue
Of the sky
And the earth below
Of all things new
Loves enfoldment
Surprising
Enticing
Exciting
Thrilling
Commencement
Let it all enfold
Rejoicing

KITTENS THEY GET EVERYWHERE

KITTENS THEY GET EVERYWHEERE

You’re in my hair
Up my stairs
This is so unfair

You’re sitting on my favorite
Chair and then you stare
With a look that says
‘I dare you’
But I dare not for
You will win the fight
And give me such a
Fright

Kitten you get everywhere
Falling down those stairs
With that woeful stare
Meowing, crying because
You think no one cares

Kitty you are up the curtains
Watch out when they get
Back in
Oh kitty
What trouble you’re in
And that is a certainty
Kitty what is going to happen?
When you get older
Hopefully much wiser
No more antics
Causing the humans
The attack of the panics

Oh well let’s just wait and see
But I love you really
Just don’t like this
Sitting on my head
My bed

A NEW BEGINNING

Taken from the anthology ‘Heartfelt Baring All’
© Teresa Joseph Franklin
A NEW BEGINNING
Opening the book
To pastures green
Green and lush
With so much to write
And so much to see
And hear
Maybe
The beginning
The place
The time
The here and now
I feel like dancing
Pirouetting, twisting and turning
Like a ballerina
With wings to fly
Just like
The butterfly
Floating so high
In the sky
Then rest by the brook
That is
Weaving
Winding
Meandering
Through the pages
Of the new book
Refreshing
Regenerating
The old
Into new life

Springtime
New lifetime
The time
For new growth
And energy
Turning the bare
Branches into lush
New green leaves
Reaching high
Up to the sky
Now is the time
To write the new book
Whilst sitting here
By the brook

THE TEARS THAT I HAVE CRIED

THE TEARS THAT I HAVE CRIED
Cannot be denied
Yet deep within I have so tried and tried
To push them aside
I’m so, so tired
I cannot sleep at night
Knowing I loved you so much
Your heavenly touch
I feel like there is still a ball and chain
Around this heart
A heart that is tearing me apart
Chains, chains like a fool
Knowing that I was just a tool
A weekender a pretender
There is so, so much misery
Knowing it was all a pretense
Knowing it all makes sense
What it is, what it is
But all I need now is a rock steady guy
Who’ll not say “Goodbye!”
A rock to be by my side
I’ll be his rock by his side
A guy who won’t make a fool out of me
Who won’t treat me like a see saw
Who’ll lift me up off the ground!
When I feel down
A kind of guy who’ll know
A kind of man who’ll do right
Day and night
Who’ll share his love with me!
A real guy who I can trust
Is a must
A guy that’ll turn this woman around
A guy that is waiting for me!
A guy that’ll search high and low for me!
I still believe that he is out there waiting for me!
No matter how high the mountains
No matter how deep the valleys
No matter how wide the rivers and seas
I still believe that love will be
No matter how high the skies
I just need to be strong
I just need to hold on
Because I am waiting, anticipating
For that precious day
For that memorable day
When I’ll be your princess

THOUGHTFUL

THOUGHTFUL
Very thoughtful
This empty mind
This empty skeleton
Ever thoughtful
Ever so thoughtless
Empty thoughts
Full of thoughts
What are your thoughts?
Just have these thoughts
Thoughts
Spinning and spinning
Brimming over with them all
The mind agog
Jeeps a fog
Must clear them thoughts
Oh dear they’ve gone
Now what can I ponder over and fill my mind with thoughts
Any thoughts anyone?
Cos I’m done

TIPPING, TAPPING, TOEING

TIPPING, TAPPING, TOEING
To the beat
Beat it out on the streets
Let it be your freedom
Freedom to be
Bringing joy and happiness
Full of fun and glee
This festivity
The joy of coming together
Whatever the weather
The sunshine be yours and mine
The blazing heat
Within our hearts it surely beats
The wind and rain
With much to gain
The glistening snow
Oh what a wondrous show
The tinkering melodies
Melodic to our ears
No matter what our years
Our peers
Tipping, tapping and toeing
Sees us toing and froing
Thoughts of family and friends
Bringing each and every one of them closer
Even though they may be far away
Yet could turn up unexpectedly
The wish, the wishes
The tables laden with heaps of dishes
 And we are still
Tipping, tapping and toeing
Coming and going
With much cheer and cheers
With many blessings
That the year has given us all
May the coming New Year
Brings you all cheer
Blessing a plenty
Peace and Goodwill
On this Heaven and Earth
So keep those feet a
Tipping, Tapping and Toeing
A song in your heart
That’ll never depart
With all my best wishes
To you and yours

WHAT DID MUM SAY TO US?

WHAT DID MUM
SAY TO US?

Now look at the pickle we are in
Mum said that we weren’t to
Go far, well this is as far
As it goes for me

We are stuck in the
Middle of this road
And I don’t know which way to go
Come on you are the eldest
Which way to go??

I am so hungry I could eat
Anything that passes by
What you reckon?
I so want to cry….

Shall we hitch a ride?
Catch the first thing that goes by?
Or wait for mum
Oh heck we are in trouble with her now
This is your entire fault
Not listening to you again
In the future

There’s no need to poke me
I’m not happy either
I’m sorry
I think we should
Go back the way we came
CAN YOU REMEMBER
THE WAY?

IT'S WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF

IT IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF
Fairy tales without the puppy dog tails
Fairy tales of long, long ago
Fairy tales when the dreams just flow and flow
Fluttering their golden wings here and there
Her wings so thin that they may break
But never fear they are too strong,
The tips of her wings like the Peacocks
Oh how they shine, oh divine
The magical, mystical little fairy girl
Her hair a golden, golden gleaming colour
She has made a daisy garland that adorns her head
She is the fairy of the land of nature
This little fairy girl holds what is so dear
The trees and all its leaves, the branches reaching
Tall and thin, the trunk so sturdy that it shall not fall
The grass so green, clean and clear
Within her hands she holds a doll
This doll is exactly just like her
Her dress an electric blue, oh what a hue!
When the night falls the stars do shine
Bringing much laughter that is yours and mine
They twinkle, sparkle from heavens divine
If you watch carefully, very carefully
They will be dancing a very happy tune
But these aren’t just twinkling stars oh no!
They are the magical, mysterious, and mythical
Fairies dancing just for you in your midnight dreams
