WILD AND FREE won nomination for Best Poet of 2013

WILD AND FREE
Let the music run free
Take you places
High and low
Fast and slow
Run, run
Wild, wild
Free, free
Open spaces
Let this inner spirit go free
Release the tensions
Release the mind
From all the clutter and confusion
Days of ifs, buts and don’t knows
Sink and go beneath the surface
Subside
Sink into the peace
And serenity
Colours taking over
Swirling vibrant reds
Yellows, golden, blues, whites
Rushing, pulsing, pounding
Stampeding, thundering hooves of horses
Beautiful noises!

LEFT BROKEN AND BARE

LEFT BROKEN AND BARE
As I sit here feeling broken and bare
And stare, stare right out there
The day yet to begin
But hark the birds start to sing
A song I once knew of a love with you
Or was it with someone else?
You disappear, and then reappear
As if nothing has happened
Over and over again
With no gain
Except for the letdown, the come down
The feeling of being bruised
And so not amused
The tune unfinished, is now diminished
Along with the sparrows that chirped their tunes
The sun now rising there in the East
A glimmer of the sun through the clouds above
Shining of a once ago love
