OPEN YOUR EYES

OPEN YOUR EYES
OPEN YOUR EYES
NOW
NOW
RIGHT NOW
Painting pretty pictures does not work
Won’t work
Trying to disguise her face
Her place
Masking over the cracks
The holes
Mother Earth is now raging
Fighting back
No more obscurity
No masking
Painting pretty pictures

THIS WORLD OF OURS, THOUGHTS FROM A POET

Our world
We are all sitting somewhere on a
A chair in our own homes
A bench in the garden the park
Or avenue
A stool in a bar
Or at our desks
Standing on a
Pavement
A sidewalk
The grasses
The sand at the beaches
In our own homes
The gardens
The parks
Watching and observing
Everyone that is there
Taking in the magic?
Or just a stare
What if we care?
Instead of just letting it passes over
Strolling along on this world of ours
Heaving
Shoving
Pushing
Shouldering
Over-crowding
Jostling for spaces
The vast open spaces
Now going and gone
Construction
Erection
Creation!!!
Production
It is everywhere
Destruction
Our lands near and far
Demands
Pressures
Stresses and strains
What are we gaining?
Winning
Or is the losing?
With nothing to gain
Do we fight back?
Or let it go?
This is our world
Do we want or need it so

I SIT AWHILE

I sit awhile in this great outdoors
Breathing in the air
So clear
So clean
So fresh
I think of you whilst sitting here
Wondering how you are
It is great to be in the great outdoors
A time to relax
A time to calm down
To unwind
And let it all go
A time to reflect of the wonders
And miracles
That happens in our lives
Especially at this present moment in time
And be forever eternally grateful
For all the good
The kindness
And
Friendships bring
To each and everyone
Blissful to be out in the great outdoors

PONDERING THE PONDERING

Pondering the pondering
Whilst sitting here on the edge of this jagged ledge
Pondering a point
Thoughtful
Thinking
Brooding
Assessing
The next steps
Life can be
Rough and tough
But here I sit
Alone
But not alone
My thoughts
Running
Racing
Cogitating
Deliberating the next move
Decisions
Decisions
No I am not jumping off the edge
Life is too precious to do that
The wide open space
Is the best place
There is quietness
Stillness
Powerful force
Strong
Sturdy
That has stood the test of time
Friends have become strangers
Or is it that I have become the stranger
Grown in stature
Moved on
With my life
Away from all that was
Life before is now my stranger
On a very distant shore
Friends I have said goodbye too
Wished them well
Bade farewell
But those that remain
Are the true
Truly
The best
They have seen it all
Heard it all
Trusted
Faithful
Dependable
Believed in me
Had faith in me
Spurred me on
At times kicked this butt
But now as I sit here on this ledge
Who now stays?
And who goes?
Who knows?
Maybe time to see how it goes
Make the decisions
As life rolls along

Is it now time that we are recognised ?

We are writers of poetry
Isn't it time?
We are writers
When is the time?
We are writers
Is this our time?
We are writers
Our works and words means so much
A loving touch
That means so much
We are writers
