That I so miss

Your tender touch

Oh how I loved you so much

I miss you by the miles

Laying here by my side

The warmth of your embrace

The touch of your face

Wrapping me up in

Ribbons and lace

Our love so undivided

Our love so complete

Oh how I wish that we could meet

But you are not here, yet I feel you are here

A presence, a feeling deep within

That wondrous knowing

Your loving warmth

The sweetest tenderness

Kind-heartedness

Oh all the balminess

That we had so long, long ago

Why did you have to go?

Leaving me so, so low

It was not your time!

I look for your special sign

The moon and the stars still shine

I cannot say goodbye

It hurts too much

It is too raw

Raw, raw, to the core

But the time has come once more

As I tread through the door

The door to love and peace

This quiet space

A hidden retreat

Refuge

For time and space

Retreating

Withdrawing

From the human race

Quietness

Stillness

Calming

Soothing

This space

The rushing of the water falls

The roaring

The spray

Cooling

Soothing

The thundering of the water

Rushing over the rocks

Pounding out the noises

That was stagnant

Lingering

In the mind

Gone

Frozen

Abandonment

Leaving it all behind

Relinquished

Let it go

Let it go

This quiet retreat

Bringing you back to the center

I JUST DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN

My thoughts are jumbled, mumbled

I thought I had it all!

The happiness, ridden of all sadness

But then and now

My life is still full of sadness

I miss the tenderest of touches

I miss the softest of embraces

I miss the silly banter

I miss the candor

But do I?

Miss your candor

Your sincerity went blowing in the wind

Along with your openness

An openness to hold hands

An openness so that our lips met

Right there out in the open

Two lovers, two friends

Where there was no pretense

Now that the seasons have changed

The façade and charades are over

You made me believe

And then you go and leave

But one thing remains

I still love you!

And nothing remains the same

Except for this hollowness

And here I sit wondering if you know

How it really, really feels to be left alone

How it really, really feels to feel this cold

How it really, really feels to be not held

Time is my enemy

Time is eternal

Time is not here!

Time keeps running away from me

My thoughts and feelings scattered

Scattered like the autumns leaves

Floating into the endless ether

It’s like you live in a world where you never listen!

A world full of your own glisten

Glitz and glamour

Minus the honesty, integrity and veracity

Time and seasons change

And I hope that you will too

For the next lady in your life

Not giving her any trouble and strife

ACROSS THE SMOKEY ROOM

ACROSS THE SMOKEY ROOM

I watch your shadowy figure

Trying to figure you out

You sit there with a mind elsewhere

Gazing into space

Without a trace of emotions

You look lost

Your look confused

The sparkle in yours eyes gone

The music in the background playing

A sad, sad love song

You cup your head in your hands

Recognizing the beat

Wracking your brain

Like a runaway train

We’re both alike

Sat here in this Smokey, Smokey bar

Listening to that

Sad, sad love song

A love we both lost

That does not belong

You ask the bartender for a drink

Drinking our sorrows down the sink

You pull a cigarette from its packet

From there beneath your jacket

A jacket a dinner jacket

Looks like a date has gone wrong

Your tie bedraggled

A red wine stain on your shirt

Oh my do I know that score!

Here I sit cigarette in my hand

A martini on the stand

Trying to hide a red wine stain

Down this wondrous dress

He threw it over me

All because of you!

Yes you across this Smokey, Smokey room

Listening to that dam, dam

Sad, sad love song

You have wrecked so many lives

With your lies and rumours

And now it has come back at you

KARMA

But I hope that you’ll learn

Learn that you know how it feels

To lose someone you love and loved

So I will just be a face in the crowd

Passing the night away

Losing track of time

Passing these long, long hours away
