#ASMSG SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Spring Has Sprung
Taken from the anthology ‘Water’

SPRING HAS SPRUNG
The freshness, cleanliness, newness
The trees are in their budding view
Everything is becoming alive and new
The crocus, the primroses
The daffodils too
The pounding, beating, and thrashing
Rain has lost its battle
It’s rattled, jangled and unsettled
The birds flying high in the sky
The torrents, the streams
Over flooding
The constant cloudbursts, downpours
Oh the deluges!
Drowning the smallest of the smallest
Will they survive? Can they survive?
Have they take shelter from the rainstorms?
But this deluge is renewing
Exciting, entrancing, enthralling
I could stand here all day
Everyday
Wash these winter blues away
Chase the shadows
The doom and glooms
The stalkers, the trackers
Far, far away
With this deluge of rain

#ASMSG The Long, Lonesome Road

The Long, Lonesome Road
Taken from the Anthology ‘Heartfelt Baring All’
© Teresa Joseph Franklin

It’s been long and tough
Lonesome and rough
The trail so bleak
Lonely all by myself
Nothing but my faithful friend
The wide open spaces, the spanses
You could see for miles and miles
Some days blissfully peaceful
Other days resentful
The blistering heat
The freezing cold
The north winds do blow
So surely so
Desolated, isolated
That nothing grows
The rivers and streams flow
Wherever they need to go
Our heads tucked low
We have such a way to go
The saddle is hard, we are so tired
We need a break; a homestead is not far ahead
Our reflections reflecting upon the rivers head
Oh don’t we look a pair?
Shattered, matted, fatigued
Let’s get going my friend

#ASMSG The Softest of Sounds

The Softest of Sounds
Taken from the Anthology ‘Heart Music’
© Teresa Joseph Franklin

The softest sounds come from the heart
Where nothing can tear that apart
The sweet, sweet rhythms of a heart beat
The flow of energy, flowing gently
Very much like the ebony and ivory
Of the piano chords
The highs that sound like a whisper
The pounding beat of the low notes
Base drums beating with all that is
Sounding out the rhythms for the ballerina
Tap, tap, tip, tip toeing
Flowing, curving, rolling
The elegance, the grace
So fluent, so self-assured
So self-confident, so self-possessed
The tune, the melody
Striking a balance
For us to swing to

#ASMSG PASSION BLACK PANTHER

PASSION
BLACK PANTHER
There is a feeling
Way, way, way
Deep within this soul
This creature that stalks
Haunts, hounds, lurks and prowls
This panther is captive
Imprisoned here within this soul
This beast will never know
You’re as black
As the night
I can feel that sensuous
Stealth, sneakiness, craftiness
Swaying
Backwards
And forwards
Toing and froing
My heart skipping hundreds of beats
Banging and thumping
Against these ribs
I can feel those piercing
Eyes
Penetrating
Right within
Totally
Mesmerizing
I look at you
With these eyes
I shall
Hypnotize
Mesmerize
And pull you
Right in
Like a prey
That is weak
Puny
And scrawny
And here
You will stay
Caged
And never
Let free

#ASMSG COLD AS ICE

COLD AS ICE
Shivering, quivering
Trembling, wobbling and weak
The face that you see
Cold as ice
Hoar just like this heart
A mere reflection
Of what you see
Truth, not a lie
Icicles hanging
Like stalagmites
Heavy
Not a thaw in sight
This heart is hardened
Toughened
Roughened
All round the edges
It is like hell has frozen over
This heart and soul
Immobilizing
Every function
Every sense
Every emotion
Agonizingly painful
Stabbing of the heart
Piercing, shooting
Is this what it is all like?
The ending
With no beginning
Cold, cold feeling
Running through this body
Frozen to the bones
I cannot see and end
I cannot pretend
I cannot imagine
Envisage
Visualize
Or conceive
Comprehend
Why you walked away
Leaving me cold
Empty
And all alone

#ASMSG CASCADING

CASCADING
Taken from the anthology ‘Water’
© Teresa Joseph Franklin

Cascading years and fears
Downwards flows
Washing away the fears and tears
Washing away the wasted years
The rocking, rocking rocks
That has toppled, collapsed, tumbled
Your world
Tattered, battered, shattered
As you have slid and slided
Way down in the depths
Of despair
But down there in the despair
There is a light a shining
Shining so bright, maybe just a glimmer to you and I
But it is there within the tumbled weeds
The moss the stones, the grit and grime
That has gathered over time

#ASMSG SEA SHELL

SEA SHELL
You reside in the vast oceans
Sea bed
Quietly
Silently
Then in awhile
As I walk this shore line
I see the most amazing sight
I have ever seen
Hidden amongst the sand
A treasure
A gem
An empty shell
Vacant
Hollow
You have left your shell
Unoccupied
Uninhabited
Deserted
A beautiful shell
A treasure amongst treasures
Right here in the sand
Your colors
The most amazing I have ever seen
Just like a rainbow
After a rainy shower
What holds my eyes
The empty space inside
Pearly
Translucent
Iridescent
Glistening
Glowing
In the days sun
Dare I take you home with me?
For all shells that are on the shore line
And in the sand are free
I have a home
And a place that is free
Sitting you on a window ledge
Where the sun is free
There you can sit
Shining your beauty
For all to see

#ASMSG CARPET RIDE

CARPET RIDE

I dreamt that I was
Taking a magic carpet ride
Way beyond
My dreams have ever been
Or seen
This magic carpet ride
So mysterious
Delirious
With joy and happiness
And the feeling of
Total bliss
I just wish that you were here
On this magic carpet ride
Here by my side
Sharing the sensations
Of this heavenly bliss
Where no one can find us
In this land of
None existence

But it is all but a dream
Which we all believe
That maybe one day
It will be real
So surreal
Until then I will dream on

#ASMSG EVEN IN THE DARKEST OF DARKEST

EVEN IN THE DARKEST OF DARKEST

There in the darkest of spaces
Places
Those nooks and crannies
A bright light will remain
Endure no matter what
A light that persists
Through the ages
Never diminishes
Weakens
A light that goes with the tides
Ebbs and flows
Of the oceans
Wide and deep
Day into night
Night into day
There is a constant flow
Of light
Shining
Guiding you through the darkness
Shadows may fall
But that bright light shines
Even on the darkest of shadows
Showing
Revealing
A beauty
That is not there in the day light
Day break
The hues
Blues
In the midnight hour
Shaft of light
From the gigantic trees above
Here we both are
Soaring through
Fact or fantasy
Through this eerie, eerie place
No fear
No terror
Here

#ASMSG CLEAR AS THE MOON

Clear as the moon
In the sky

This night that is
Shining so bright
In the most beautiful
Of the blue
The moon glistening
On the lake below
Ripples of silver
White
And royal blue
The land so white
From the winters
Fall of snow
Crisp
Glistening from
The moons light
Tree hanging with the weight of snow
Wolves howling
Braying
On this cold, cold
Night
They see their
Kin
Way above in the sky
And one shadowy figure
In the moons light
Calling
Missing their kin
To come back in
