THIS MASK THAT I WEAR
This Mask That I wear
That I live behind
Playing a different tune
To face the world
The high notes
The low notes
And the ones in between
A mask that says
I can play whatever tune
That suite the
moods
Playing the tune right out loud
So loud it disguises
The screaming
Tearing
Fearing
Searing
Agonizing
Hurt way deep, deep
Inside
That’s pulling this
Soul so far apart
Why did you have
To leave this heart?
A mourning tune
The feeling of my heart
Crying
Sighing
Dying
Self-denying
It’s over
It can’t be over
You are my lover
It’s not over
Hiding behind this cover
Where no one will
Ever discover
The deceit and the lies
