ARE WE SO BLIND

ARE WE SO BLIND?
We walk around oblivious
Unconsciously
 Unaware
Like robots mechanically programmed
Numb unfeeling
Our reflexes reaching for the norm
 Intuitively
Unthinkingly
Our subconscious
Thoughts, feelings behaving out of sync
We all traipse around lifeless
Blindfolded
Insensible
With not a smile on your faces
In your familiar places
You traipse
You frown
Just like a clown
Oh what a circus running around
And here you are
Unresponsive to the beauty all around
Are we so blind?
Are we so bound?
Running around
Take off the binds
The blinds
The blinkers
FEEL, SEE, TASTE, HEAR, LISTEN
All that is around us
LOVE
In a blindfolded world

  1. Hi Teresa!

I really enjoyed your poem. I'm no expert on poetry at all but I enjoyed the rhythm of the verse, the word choices (insensible is a great word) and most of all the message.

I wish you great success and I will drop again to read more for sure!
