#ASMSGPoetry SHIFTY SNEAKY

SHIFTY SNEAKY
How could they take so much?
Without so much as a touch
Their eyes hidden behind their shifty, sneaky interiors
Sneak in without a word
Thieves in the daylight
Moonless night
Sneaking in under a dark, dark cloud
Their world sunless, starless
Shadowy, ghostly and cagey
Their furtive, secretive, stealthiest world
They take your belongings
Your heart and soul
The most treasured possessions
And use them for their own ends
Leaving you weak, helpless
Leaving you with the barest of barest
Leaving you vulnerable
Defenceless, powerless
Take a long, long look at those eyes
Those prying, spying eyes
They are all around us, you and I!
Watching and waiting
For the moment to strike, strike so hard!
Hard enough that you will not notice
They are there behind our backs
They are there in front of our faces
They are there to the left and to the right
And they will strike
Strike with might!
Any time of the day or night
