OUT OF THIS GLOOM

OUT OF THIS GLOOM
Where there is so, so much room
To stretch my wings
Oh to be out of this gloom
You brought such joy
That had me dancing, prancing
That I could dance with the moon
It’s golden, fiery, scorching
My desires
That mirrored my passions
Blistering passions
Red, red, red
Oh how I misread
What was going on in your head!
The calculating silent
Violent psychological
Methodical
Systematical
Abuse
Your muse
Your lousy, lousy muse
That kept you amused
The grinning Cheshire cat
When I was a winning
And still winning
But now it is mine to bat
A smile and smile
Because it is all worthwhile
To walk this long, long mile
To sing
To dance
To shout it all about
Dance with the moon
Stretch with the moon
Spread my wings
And do anything
