SOFTLY GENTLY (New Poem) image moves

SOFTLY GENTLY
Slowly does it!
This instrument of bliss and joy
Is now back in my possession
After a long, long omission
I’ve missed it with a passion
There is no fashion
It does not hold
Any gold
There is no price, you’re priceless
And here we are as one
Once again
Yet! There is someone missing
Just tell me what is wrong
We wowed
The crowds
Right up to the rafters of all the theatres
Their talking thereafter
Your silence is deafening
Deafening, oh these feelings
We sat together composing
The compositions bound us together
We loved the music we made
The music that was part of our lives
And here I am alone
Alone!
I’d give anything for you to be here
And here I stand with a lonesome tear
The music is strange to me now
Where the music flew like a delicate butterfly
Flowing softly and gently
I need you here, right here
Oh babe, oh babe
Come and tell me what is wrong
Can we make sweet music once again?
I’ve cried and cried
Day after day
Night after night
There is no longer any rhythm and rhyme
The piano plays on and on
Tinkering the ivories and ebonies
Just like you used to!
But there is a familiar sound to them
I turn around and a familiar face smiles
Smiles right back at me!
You’re here, here like you should be
Oh my heart and soul are singing
The strings of my violin are flowing
The musical notes flowing into the atmosphere
Just as it should be
This is where you belong
Now I’m flowing with the rhythm
Silently humming to the music
Oh babe, now the butterfly is on the wing
Flowing, flowing softly and gently
This is my joy, bliss
That I have so, so missed
Oh how I love you babe
This is where we should be
Rapturing, rapturing
The crowds, the audiences
This is what they have missed
This is their rapture, their bliss
And now we finish our performance
The audience stands on their feet
Elation fills the room
We both feel it
We both see it
The exhilaration on our faces
We savor the moment
Never wanting or needing to leave
Who is important to our successes?
But we must leave you all
The euphoria plain to see and feel
Thank you, thank you
As we take our bows
We blow kisses to you all
Thankful and grateful
As I am that you came back to me
Adieu we’ll be back
