HELLO
TWO LEGS (Critically acclaimed poem)
Oh
sorry family and friends across the globe
I
see that you are absorbed
In
whatever you are doing
Authors,
poets, screenwriters and the like
You’re
glued to you devices
Oh
such vices
Have
you forgotten us?
I’m
scratching at your two legs
Pegs
I
see I am left to my own devices
Well!
Here
goes and I can hear your woes
Already!
On
my marks and here I go
Up
the curtains, scratching at the silk
I
hear your ilk
I
hear your screeching
Pleading
and beseeching
But
I am not coming down!
I
see your frown
Oh
dear, oh dear
I
can see your full blown fear!
Is
that a tear?
Rolling,
rolling down your cheek
Eeek
Now
I know I am in serious trouble
There
will be a loud rumble
A
very loud one!
A
rumble from under the stairs
Now
who cares!
I’m
all ears
Full
on forward ears
I’m
listening
My
eyes are glistening
My
tail is swishing
Oh
here come the other two legs
You
know who you are!
The
one who has his legs covered up
Teehee
how such bliss
Those
pair of legs uncovered I so miss
He
loathed me playing with his legs
Boring,
boring person
I
nipped and nibbled his hairy legs
Or
pegs
That
rumble is still making a noise
I’m
wondering and pondering
It
is not scaring me!
I
am not
really, really scared
They’ve
done this to me before
Then
shut the door
That rumble is not my tummy
Could do with some yummy
Feeling quite funny
Seeing the pair of them
Well they should play with me
Not on their settee
That rumble is still there
Well here I go
Quite slow
I know what that rumble is
Do you?
It is there way of getting me down
Now I frown
Cos that is not fair!
Now I stare
Shall I, or shan’t
Oh dratters
What does it matter!
It is my comfy, cosy place
I hide my face
That warm, warm tumble dryer
Now how do I say I’m sorry?
Or should I not bother
Catch you all later
And here is hoping that you’ll play with
me instead
