A SOUND SO PURE (revisited and rewritten)

A SOUND SO PURE

So certain and sure

A life free of strife

A life that sings

No pulling at the strings

Free of everything

Its sounds so right

It sounds so bright

My heart all a flutter

The petals all in a flurry

Never in a hurry

My heart rhythmic

Full of music

Softly swaying

Playing

The rhythm and rhyme

So sublime

That’s yours and mine

I hear your tune so gently

So softly

There amongst the orchestra playing

You are sat alone, but not alone

Your harp of many strings

A harp sharpened, tuned and honed

The orchestra members begin their gazing

The room so hazy, hazy, hazy

They stare, they glare!

But I never care!

We know the symphony

We need no sympathy

Harper, Harper the orchestras Harpist

Your strings so honed for the next entrance

Harper, Harper, we await your mesmerizing sweet tones

Your mesmerized face tuned and toned

You look my way, oh that special way

That says

“Hey my love”

“There is nothing to fear”

“Never shed a tear”

“I am here”

“Follow the notes, both high and low”

“My precious violinist”

I’m at the ready, yet not steady

Orchestral leader, baton in his hand

Poised and at the ready

He looks at us all

He smiles

His smile always has us reassured

He looks my way

I feel the swaying once again

His whispering voice

Oh now I have no choice

The time is the here and now!

I take a gentle bow

Towards the waiting audience

All I see are mesmerized faces

Waiting, waiting

In anticipation

Oh Harper, Harper

Time to face my fears

No tears

My first ever solo performance

Oh Harper, Oh Harper

Could this be forever after?

You strike your chords

My cue, my cue

Especially for you

All for you

Oh this is surely going to be

A Sound So Pure
