NAKED
The
day we were born naked
As
free as can be
Our
minds
Our
bodies
Our
spirits
FREE
Its
childish intent
Absorbed in nothing extent
Our scope and range
Stretching out its hands
For steadiness
In readiness
We wobbled
We toppled
We teeter on the edge
But never fearing the extent
What happened to you and me?
We have lost our touch
We’ve lost our readiness
That steadfastness
The wobbles the topples
Have taken over
We mask the fear
We scream the tears
We holler
We cover
We take cover
The pain and agony
The anguish
The torture
The suffering, misery
Tormenting ourselves inside
Laying bare the hurt
Reflection of our once childlike innocence
